Sean Penn has said that if he and Charlize Theron tied the knot then he would treat it like a first marriage. The 54-year-old actor, who has been married twice before, said that despite his previous unions he would approach a new marriage with the benefit of experience. "Yes, I'd get married again," said Sean, when quizzed by Esquire magazine on whether he is considering walking down the aisle with Charlize. "You say I've been married twice before but I've been married under circumstances where I was less informed than I am today.

"So I wouldn't even consider it a third marriage, I'd consider it a first marriage on its own terms if I got married again." Sean, who was married to Madonna from 1985 to 1989 and to actress Robin Wright from 1996 to 2010, said that he was surprised to find himself "in love" again. "[For] Lot of reasons," he explained. "53 years old, plus finally beginning to figure out why you haven't been happy in a single relationship? It could seem too late."
