Jerry Hall and her son James Jagger enjoyed a rare night out together as they paid a visit to an art gallery on Wednesday night. The mother-son duo were attending the private viewing of "Ron Gorchov: Curated by Vito Schnabel" at Sotheby's in central London.

The American actress, who has three other children with her ex-husband Mick Jagger, looked thrilled to be spending the cultural evening with her eldest son James at her side.

While Jerry sipped on cocktails and took in the modern art, she turned heads for her famous status and her casual chic appearance.

The blonde beauty, who defied her years at 58, wrapped up from the cold weather in a cream cable knit jumper and matching knitwear maroon skirt. She completed her winter look with cowboy boots and a leather embossed handbag.

Her 29-year-old actor son James, who was dressed head-to-toe in black, proved her perfect accessory as he mingled with other guests and proudly posed with his mum for the cameras.

The pair chatted to New York-based curator Vito Schnabel, and throughout the evening were joined by fellow stars Sophie Ellis Bextor, Rosie Fortescue and artist Ron himself, who is famed for working with curved surface paintings and shaped canvases since 1967.

Jerry, who is also doting mum to Elizabeth, Georgia May and Gabriel Jagger, has previously spoken to HELLO! magazine about her past relationship with her famous Rolling Stone ex-husband.

"I genuinely like him," she said. "He's funny, he's clever, he tries his best and he is also a great father. I think I chose really well – my children are smart, beautiful and talented, so I feel no regrets."

"But he's not the sort of person I want to spend my old age with," added Jerry, who has been in a relationship with scientist Armand Leroi for a year. "Life changes, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Why shouldn't life change? Move on."
