Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher ended a nearly two-year child support battle with New York-based journalist Liza Ghorbani the day before the case was scheduled to go to a Manhattan courtroom. The pair are believed to have finally agreed on a deal, the terms and figures of which remain confidential. "I'm just really relieved this ordeal is over for the sake of my daughter," said Liza, who signed the settlement on Thursday morning.

Liam's New York attorney, Raoul Felder, attributed the lengthy case to "the ocean between the parties" – Liza lives Stateside and Liam lives in North London. Justice Laura Drager called the support pact "very fair and appropriate".The relationship allegedly started after Liza wrote an article for the New York Times entitled A Night Out With Liam Gallagher in May 2010. Their fling reportedly finished after Gemma was born and Liza sued the rock star for $3million (£1.9million) worth of paternity costs.

"Liza met Liam when she interviewed him for the Times, and they began an affair," a source told the New York Post at the time. "It continued until around three months after the birth of the child. He ended the relationship when she told him she was suing him for child support. "Liam's marriage to former All Saints singer Nicole Appleton hit the rocks after the news of that he had fathered the little girl – whom Liza says he has never met – hit the headlines. His wife was said to have been "devastated" at the time. The couple, who are parents to son Gene, divorced nearly a year later in April 2014.After the breakdown of their marriage, Liam, 42, started dating his former personal assistant Debbie Gwyther, who managed his new band Beady Eye.As well as Gene and Gemma, Liam has two more children – Lennon, from his first wife Patsy Kensit, and Molly, who he fathered after an affair with English singer-songwriter Lisa Moorish.
