Hollyoaks cast out in force as Kieron Richardson marries Carl Hyland

Kieron Richardson's Hollyoaks co-stars were on hand to help him celebrate his marriage to Carl Hyland on Saturday. Stars of the Channel 4 soap, including Jennifer Metcalfe and Gemma Merna, played starring roles in Kieron and Carl's special day, which took place in the picturesque Peak DistrcitThe theme of the day appeared to be a big white wedding with suit-clad grooms Carl and 29-year-old Kieron choosing for their 12 bridesmaids to all wear elaborate ivory wedding gowns.

Jennfier, who recently made a surprise return to Hollyoaks in her role as Mercedes McQueen, and Gemma, who quit her role as Carmel McQueen in 2014, both turned heads in their heavily embelished dresses.Also making up the famous guest list were Nicole Barber-Lane, Jessica Fox, Bronagh Waugh, Nikki Sanderon, Anna Passey and Stephanie Waring while star of The Inbetweeners Emily Atack, who Kieron met on Dancing On Ice was also in attendance.The venue for Kieron and Carl's big day was the Devonshire Dome in Buxton, Derbyshire – an hour from the Greater Manchester city of Eccles where Keiron, who has played Ste Hay in Hollyoaks since 2006, grew up.

Jennifer Metcalfe was one of the couple's bridesmaids

Twitter was abuzz with messages of congratulations for the happy couple."12 brides, 2 grooms and 1 amazing venue = the most beautiful wedding," wrote Mandip Gill, who plays Phoebe McQueen. "Thank you for sharing your special day @MrkieronR & Carl"Jorgie Porter, who plays Theresa McQueen, also thanked the grooms for their choice of bridesmaid outfit. "Thank you to @mrkieronrichardson and Carl for giving me this beautiful dress wear," she tweeted. "My dress was like a bubble bath x"

Gemma Merna, who left Hollyoaks in 2014, supported her former co-star

Kieron Richardson publically revealed that he was gay back in September 2010 during an appearance on This Morning. The actor said that 2006's X Factor winner Joe McElderry had inspired him to come out.After receiving a host of abuse on Twitter about his sexuality, Kieron has sought tackle the issue of homophobia and was invited to attend a reception on the subject with David Cameron at Downing Street in 2011.
