Mick Jagger remembers L'Wren Scott on her birthday

Mick Jagger has posted a poignant message on social media to mark what would have been the 52nd birthday of his late long-term girlfriend, L'Wren Scott. The 72-year-old musician shared a photo of the fashion designer posing in front of a beautiful sunset, looking back at the camera. "Remembering L'Wren on her birthday," Mick wrote alongside.They are the exact same words that the rocker used this time one year ago, when he paid tribute to his late love on her birthday.

The couple had been together for 13 years when L'Wren tragically took her own life on 17 March, 2014. In a statement shortly after the news of her death was announced, heartbroken Mick admitted he was "still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way"."We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves," he added. "I will never forget her. "Mick spent the second anniversary of L'Wren's death this year performing for 60,000 Rolling Stones fans in Mexico City. Afterwards he spoke candidly about how is coming to terms with his loss, and revealed that he takes comfort in wearing the clothes she designed for him on stage.

"I don't find it difficult emotionally to wear her clothes. In fact it's quite nice for me," he told the Mirror. "I've got a big selection of her stuff and the wardrobe mistress goes nuts because I always want to bring them all on tour. "At the end of the day I just pick them up and go: 'Ah that's one of L'Wren's....I like this one'."Asked if it got any easier for him to do so, he simply said: "As time go by, you obviously have a different take on it. It's not something I want to talk about but, I mean... the thing is – I am still wearing her clothes."
