Ryan Seacrest has sent his best wishes to Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick following their break-up. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians executive producer admitted he was sad to hear that the couple had parted ways after a nine-year relationship.

"Obviously you hate to see a split with people that you know and a family that you know and love," Ryan said during an appearance on the Today show on Monday. "Hopefully things can work for the best of them."

When asked if Scott would still appear in the popular programme, Ryan promised that it would show "reality".

"Well the show is reality so whatever happens, happens in real time," he said.

Kourtney called time on her relationship with Scott over the Fourth of July weekend, after photographs surfaced of him looking cosy with his ex-girlfriend Chloe Bartoli in Monte Carlo.

Kourtney and Scott have split up after a nine-year relationship

While she spent Wednesday treating her daughter Penelope to a very special third birthday at Disneyland, an assistant was seen moving Scott's belongings out of the home they shared with their three children – Mason, five, Penelope, three, and seven-month-old Reign.

The 36-year-old appears to be staying strong with support from her sisters Kim Kardashian and Khloé Kardashian following the split, with the trio sharing a series of photos together over the past week.

Meanwhile Scott reportedly checked into rehab in Florida on Sunday – only to walk out a few hours later. The father-of-three had been scheduled to make a paid appearance in Las Vegas on Thursday, but pulled out at the last minute.

According to some sources, Scott had not been taking the split seriously because he is not convinced that the relationship is over for good.

"Scott says that he's doing fine," an insider told People. "He says that he is not upset that the relationship is over, because 'over' doesn't always mean 'over'. He has left open the door to getting back with her."

The source added: "But he's open to the idea that she may not forgive him and it may really be over for good, and he's ok with that too. Right now his feeling is, whatever happens, happens."
