Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux managed to pull off the impossible when they tied the knot in a secret A-List wedding ceremony on 5 August 2015 – almost three years to the day after they got engaged.

The couple, who met on the set of Tropic Thunder, tied the knot at their beautiful Bel Air mansion in front of a number of famous friends including Jennifer's Friends co-stars Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow.

Zooey Deschanel and Jacob Pechenik

Zooey Deschanel served up a double-whammy surprise after it was revealed that she had married partner Jacob Pechenik in private as well as welcoming a "beautiful healthy baby girl" together at the end of July.

No details are known as yet about the couple's nuptials, which come almost a year after they made their red carpet debut together at the 2014 Emmy Awards.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis

Another A-List couple who took everyone by surprise with their low-key nuptials was Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis.

The actors, who welcomed daughter Wyatt Isabelle together in September 2014, gathered their friends and family in a secluded orchard in California to say their vows over the Fourth of July weekend before taking a honeymoon road trip to Yosemite National Park and Napa Valley.

Actress Suranne Jones married her partner Laurence Akers in a secret, low-key ceremony at Islington Town Hall this summer. The wedding was reportedly "intimate and romantic" and follows a whirlwind romance for the couple, who announced their engagement just six weeks after they met in 2014.
