Robin Williams' death: Sarah Michelle Gellar leads tributes one year on

Sarah Michelle Gellar has led tributes to Robin Williams one year on from his death. The Oscar-winning actor was found dead at his California home on 11 August 2014 to the devastation of his family, friends and fans.

One friend who is still struggling to come to terms with Robin's loss is Sarah, who co-starred in comedy The Crazy Ones with him in 2014. The actress posted a photo of the bench Robin sat on during an iconic scene in his film Good Will Hunting, which she captioned with a famous quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson.

She wrote: "'To laugh often and much; to win the respect of the intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the beauty in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that one life has breathed easier because you lived here.

The Cruel Intentions actress struck up a close friendship with her co-star and previously said that he was "the father I had always dreamed of having," following his death.

Meanwhile his children Zak, Zelda and Cody have admitted they are still grieving for their father. Daughter Zelda decided to take a break from social media over three weeks ago, telling her followers: "It's a time served away from the opinions or sentiments of others, and I appreciate your understanding."

The 26-year-old got a hummingbird tattoo in memory of her father in October, while her older brother Zak gave a speech in December where he spoke on behalf of himself and his siblings, explaining: "There's not a day that goes by that we don't think about our dad."
