Mel B had an extra special plus one for her night out at the VH1 Streamy Awards on Thursday. The former Spice Girl was joined by her daughter Phoenix on the red carpet for the annual awards, hosted at the Hollywood Palladium.

Both Mel, 40, and 16-year-old Phoenix looked stylish for the occasion, donning complementing outfits in shades of white and pink. Mel opted for a white blouse and pink pencil skirt teamed with nude heels and a clutch bag, while Phoenix looked grown up in a white roll neck top and tailored trousers, accessorised with a head chain and clutch.

They happily posed for photos together on the red carpet before heading into the awards, where they were spotted chatting to Vampire Diaries star Kat Graham and Ariana Grande's brother Frankie.

The mother-daughter duo have enjoyed a series of public outings together over the last few days, with Mel allowing her eldest daughter to accompany her to New York Fashion Week on Sunday, wearing a dress and heels apparently pilfered from her mum's wardrobe.

The charismatic TV judge posted two pictures of mum and daughter preparations for their night out, joking in one caption: "I have no words apart from take off my shoes and dress NOW". She also mused to followers: "Where did my baby girl go?"

Phoenix, whose father is dancer Jimmy Gulzar, is the eldest of Mel's three girls. Speaking exclusively to HELLO! in an interview last year, her mother described her as "my soulmate… incredible, sporty and calm", adding with pride that the teenager is in the top team for basketball at her school.

The former Spice Girl has two more children; Angel, from her relationship with Eddie Murphy, and Madison with her husband Stephen Belafonte.

Mel's busy week of high profile appearances comes as she admitted she is pushing for a Spice Girls reunion in 2016. Speaking on the Meredith Viera show, Mel said: "Nothing has been announced, nothing's official. Yes, we are in talks, because it is our 20th anniversary, and I want something to happen – it better…

"I'm working them a little bit – I've been saying it for five years. 'We are reuniting, aren't we? We are? We are? We need to!"
