Megan Fox's estranged husband Brian Austin Green asks for spousal support

Share this:

After Megan Fox filed for divorce from her estranged husband Brian Austin Green last month, it was almost certain that the actress would have to provide spousal support for her ex. Brian has now responded to her request for a divorce.

Court documents obtained by People show the actor has asked for spousal support and joint custody of the couple's two sons – Noah, three, and 17-month-old Bodhi.

Megan and Brian were together for 11 years and met when the on-screen siren was only 18. The pair married five years ago in Hawaii and did not sign a prenuptial agreement, meaning that they will most likely have to divide their assets.

Megan Fox filed for divorce in August, citing irreconcilable differences

When 29-year-old Megan filed for divorce last month, she cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split and also requested joint physical and legal custody of her two sons. She listed 15 June as the official date of their separation.

Megan and Brian's marriage has reportedly been on the rocks for six months and the pair have been separated since. They were last pictured in early June when they were seen eating lunch in Beverly Hills.

It was reported that Megan's busy film career was a factor in their split, with the actress spending the summer away from home filming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 while Brian looked after the children.

Sources told TMZ that Megan will likely have to pay the former Beverly Hills 90210 actor a large sum of money, due to the disparity in their salaries.

The couple were involved in a car accident last December where they were hit by a drunk-driver in a head-on collision. While neither were injured, it's been claimed that the incident left 42-year-old Brian with severe vertigo, a medical condition that left him mostly bedridden and unable to work.

Megan and Brian met on the set of series Hope and Faith. The actress said she felt an instant attraction to Brian and the pair soon became an item.

Despite getting engaged in 2006, the pair called off their engagement in 2009 with Brian saying: "Marriage isn't a realistic goal for someone who is 23."

The couple rekindled their relationship and Brian proposed again in June 2010, with the pair getting married just 24 days later.
