Kate Winslet has managed to keep the details of her two broken marriages private – and she intends to keep it that way. The Oscar-winning actress, who is now happily married to Ned RocknRoll, reflected on her relationships in an interview with WSJ. magazine.

"I know lots of people who are not in the public eye who have gone through several marriages I really do," Kate said. "And it's just those are the cards life dealt me. I didn't plan on it being that way."

She added: "No one really knows what has happened in my life. No one really knows why my first marriage didn't last; no one knows why my second didn't. And I'm proud of those silences."

Kate was married to director Jim Threapleton for three years from 1998 to 2001, and the couple welcomed daughter Mia Honey, now 14, together in 2000. The Titanic star then went on to marry director Sam Mendes in May 2003, with whom she had son Joe Alfie later that year. The pair were married for seven years before announcing their separation in 2010.

The 39-year-old has since found love again with Ned RocknRoll after meeting on a holiday at Necker Island in 2011. The couple married in December 2012 and have a son Bear Blaze Winslet together, with Kate having nothing but positive words to say about her husband.

Kate says she's never been happier than with Ned RocknRoll

"Thank God for Ned – really. He's just so incredibly supportive, and he's so much fun," she said. "He's absolutely everything to me. And to all of us."

It is not the first time Kate has sung Ned's praises; in March the actress, who turns 40 on 5 October, said she has never been happier than she is now.

"We've all got our health and we all laugh a lot," Kate told People. "In my personal life, I can't really say why, but I've never felt more confident and happy.

"I have a wonderful man in my life who is so incredibly supportive that makes it possible for me to have those experiences," she added in reference to her film roles. "It's been a really fun time."
