Nick Cave and his wife Susie Bick supported each other on Tuesday as they attended an inquest into their son Arthur's death. The couple held hands as they entered Brighton Coroners Court for the hearing, which explained the series of events that led to Arthur tragically falling from a cliff in Brighton on 14 July.

The inquest heard that the 15-year-old had taken the hallucinogenic drug LSD, and had been spotted staggering around the top of the cliff before falling over. Concerned drivers who witnessed the accident jumped out of their cars to look for the teenager, who was found on the underpass of Ovingdean Gap with a fractured skull and brain haemorrhage as well as two broken legs.

Arthur was airlifted to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, but later died from his injuries. Police have said his death was not suspicious.

Nick, 57, and his wife Susie released a statement at the time of their son's death, writing: "Our son Arthur died on Tuesday evening. He was our beautiful, happy loving boy. We ask that we be given the privacy our family needs to grieve at this difficult time."

Apart from his parents, Arthur left behind his twin brother Earl. The Caves live in central Brighton, around three miles from where Arthur was found.
