Isabella Cruise tends to shy away from the spotlight, but she made a rare public appearance in London on Wednesday. The daughter of Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise stepped out for the first time since her wedding to Max Parker, but ensured to keep her wedding ring firmly out of sight.

The 23-year-old joined a friend at Tyler Shields' Decadence exhibition at London's Maddox Gallery, which was also attended by Tamara Ecclestone, Lindsay Lohan and Immy Waterhouse.

Bella, as she is known by friends, dressed down for the outing in a casual all-black ensemble and posed happily for photographers. However she pulled her cardigan sleeves down over her left hand to keep her wedding ring hidden from view.

It is the first high profile event Bella has attended since she married IT consultant Max Parker in September. The couple tied the knot at London's Dorchester Hotel, with just a select group of friends present.

Although neither Max nor Isabella's parents attended the wedding, they were said to support the marriage, which came less than a year after the couple started dating.

"The ceremony was low-key but very expensive," a source told Mail Online. "Tom picked up the bill and paid for everything, but it was decided that neither he nor Nicole should attend as it would have turned the whole event into a circus."

The newlyweds are now reported to be enjoying life out of the spotlight, after moving to the residential area of Croydon in South London, where her husband's family originate from. The make-up artist used to live in the affluent area of SW7 – the South Kensington and Knightsbridge boroughs – where her famous dad Tom paid for her rent.
