Beyoncé Knowles delighted fans by sharing a series of sweet snaps of her daughter Blue Ivy on her official blog on Thursday. The images, which were taken during rehearsals for the Super Bowl 50 half-time show, see the four-year-old grinning as she plays with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

In one black-and-white photo Chris can be seen laughing while lifting Blue Ivy in the air. The youngster looks adorable in a pink tutu and trainers, with a matching biker jacket.

Another cute shot shows Blue sitting on the floor and rubbing her eyes, seemingly worn out from a busy day of rehearsals. The daughter of Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z definitely appeared to have won over the performers and their backing dancers; in one photo she sits happily on her mum's knee while surrounded by the group that included Uptown Funk singer Bruno Mars.

Beyoncé stole the show at the Super Bowl with a performance of her new single Formation in February. The 35-year-old engaged in a dance-off with Bruno Mars before joining Chris Martin and his headline act Coldplay to finish their set. They were each supported by their families, with Blue Ivy joining Chris' 11-year-old daughter Apple to cheer on their superstar parents in the crowd.

At the time Chris' ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow shared an adorable photo of the two girls holding hands as they walked backstage at San Francisco's Levi's Stadium, showing them both wearing colourful jackets for the highly-anticipated performance.

Chris has a great relationship with both Beyoncé and Blue Ivy, and even gave the youngster a starring role on Coldplay's latest album A Head Full of Dreams. Blue Ivy is one of many unlikely performers to lend guest vocals to some of the tracks, after Chris said they wanted people who are important to them to play a part on their album.

"Everyone who got asked to sing on our album has an important part in our lives," Chris told The Wall Street Journal. "This is the Wall Street Journal, so I don't want to get too hippie, but what I'm trying to learn in my life is the value of every human."

He added: "Inclusiveness is the key thing, and it all comes from that Guest House poem," Chris said referring to a 13th century poem by Rumi. "The 'choir' started with my two kids coming in after school and recording. We recorded Blue Ivy Carter in New York when her mum Beyoncé was in the studio."
