After ten years of marriage, Hollywood couple Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner split and since then, the pair have been adjusting to their new lives. The mother-of-three recently opened up about the break down of their relationship in a candid interview with Vanity Fair, which her estranged husband has finally addressed.

The Argo actor told The New York Times: "She's allowed to talk about it. She felt like she wanted to discuss it and get it out there and get it over with, so she could say, 'Look, I already talked about it – I don't want to do it again'".

The former couple, who share three children Violet, 10, Seraphina, seven, and four-year-old Sam, have remained amicable during their public break up.

"Jen's great. She's a great person," he said. "We're on great terms. I just saw her this morning, so that's the reality that I live in."

Jennifer called Ben the "love of my life"

In Jennifer's interview, she called Ben the "love of my life," and said the end of their marriage "hurts me so much."

The actress revealed that despite speculation no one else was involved in their decision to separate. "We had been separated for months before I ever heard about the nanny. She had nothing to do with our decision to divorce. [Christine Ouzounian — the nanny] was not a part of the equation."

The Batman v Superman actor also opened up about how difficult it has been having his relationship in the spotlight. "It never seems like a great time to have your privacy invaded. Obviously this is a particularly hard time," he said.

The duo announced their separation on 30 June – one day after their tenth wedding anniversary. Releasing a joint statement, the pair wrote: "After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce.

"We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding."
