Adele invited a newly engaged couple on stage at the O2 Arena

"Did you just get engaged? Oh my god! I thought there was a fight at first!" Adele said. "I saw all of the camera phone lights at first and then I saw arms went up and I saw sweet kissing."

The newly engaged couple, who have since been named as Natalie King and Johnny Biggle, explained that they have been going out for 12 and a half years and Johnny decided to propose during Make You Feel My Love, which they call "our song".

"Congratulations, I'm so happy for you!" Adele said, quipping: "You've been going out longer than I've been making music."

Unsurprisingly Natalie has been left stunned by both her partner's proposal and meeting her idol, and tweeted to say she had an "amazing night" at the concert.

"Amazing night!! Still can't believe this just happened. The boy did good x," she wrote.

Adele is fast getting a reputation for making her fan's dreams come true during her live tour; she kicked off her tour by encouraging a woman to propose to her boyfriend on stage to mark the leap year. The Hello singer also took time out to visit a seriously ill fan at her home in Belfast after being made aware of a social media campaign set up by her mum.
