Michael Douglas 'so proud' of his son Dylan

Michael Douglas couldn't help but share a proud moment with his Facebook followers this week, as he watched his son Dylan take to the stage to speak in public at a fundraising event. The actor, 71, uploaded a photo showing 15-year-old Dylan looking smart in a suit and tie while making his address. "So proud of Dylan!" Michael wrote alongside. "Speaking at a Windward School fundraiser. "Dylan has been a pupil at Windward for some time now. The facility is a premier school for students with dyslexia and language-based learning difficulties.

Michael revealed his son's battle with dyslexia back in 2010 in an interview with The Guardian. "My son deals with dyslexia to a degree," he said of his then-ten-year-old. "It runs in the family and my brother has it. He goes to a special school. "He also revealed that earlier in the year, he and his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones had relocated with their children to New York due to Dylan's dyslexia. "We lived in Bermuda until last September," he said. "One of our kids has some special needs and it was recommended he go to a special school in the New York area."

Michael and Catherine have two children together

Both Michael and Catherine are devoted to their children Dylan and Carys, who will be 13 later this month.

The couple tied the knot in November 2000, and after a short period of time living apart, are now happier than ever. This week, Michael spoke about the time he was first introduced to Catherine's parents, Patricia and David, and admitted it was a nerve-wracking experience. "Since I was about the same age that they were, I'm sure they looked me over pretty carefully," he said.

The star also spoke about the family's recent a trip to the Rocky Mountains, where he first proposed to the Welsh actress. "We went back to Aspen, Colorado where I did propose to Catherine, New Year's Eve, 1999, so I would never forget it. It's very easy to remember," he told People."To have the kids there – we went to the house where I was. They let us in and everything else. I showed them where the chair was and they were like, 'Ew, this is gross!'"
