Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale are one step closer to finalising their divorce. The couple have agreed on the terms of their divorce settlement and all that’s left is for the judge to sign the paperwork in court, TMZ reports.

Gwen and Gavin, who have three sons together, did not sign a prenuptial agreement prior to their 2002 wedding, which means that the former couple are legally entitled to 50 per cent of everything acquired during their marriage.

However, Gwen, who earned substantially higher than her husband thanks to her concert and record sales, will be taking the lion’s share.

The youngsters will most likely spend more time with their dad because of Gwen's busy touring schedule. While Gavin, 50, is entitled to child support, he has not asked for any.

The pair called time on their marriage last summer, amid rumours that the Bush lead singer had been unfaithful to his wife. Gwen, 46, filed for divorce citing "irreconcilable differences" in court documents.

"While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment," they wrote. "To that end, we respectfully request privacy from the media during this time."

Gwen has been dating her The Voice co-star Blake Shelton since the summer

Gwen, who is now dating her co-star from The Voice Blake Shelton, has recently opened up about how she coped with her painful divorce, by using music as an outlet.

During an appearance on Good Morning America, the mum-of-three said: "I felt like, 'Wow, I can't go down. This is not who I am. I'm not going to fail.'

"I had to make something good out of it. So I tried to write because I know that that was my gift. And I was like, 'I'm going to do this. I'm going to make this into music.'"
