"He plays polo so I think it's great because from the outside it's hard to understand how much work goes into it and so it's nice to have someone that does the same thing and we can really understand each other," Jessica told HOLA! TV, adding that they like to support each other at competitions.

"He loves to come watch and I watch his games so it's fun."

The skilled equestrian also shared her top tips for any budding show jumpers, advising them to "enjoy yourself, stay focused and stay disciplined".

Jessica added: "It's all about having fun. That’s what I tell myself when I'm going in the ring and I'm so nervous I just realise how lucky we are to be here and just really enjoy it and take it all in."

The 24-year-old, who is the daughter of Bruce and Patti Scialfa, also shared the best advice she remembered receiving from her parents.

"Just when you move up in levels you're not going to be successful right away and to just keep working hard and like I said, not to be too hard on yourself," Jessica explained. "So they always really pushed me when I needed to be pushed and it was really helpful.

"They really just taught me that it's so rare to be passionate about something in life so when you find that passion to really pursue it and to work hard at it.

"I couldn't be where I am today without them."
