James Franco has sadly announced the death of his grandma, Mitzie

Mitzie was grandmother to 38-year-old James and his two actor brothers, Tom Franco and Dave Franco. She certainly seemed to enjoy her celebrity connection, previously appearing in a Funny or Die skit criticising anyone who hadn't seen James' 2010 film 127 Hours. The Franco family will no doubt remember Mitzie when they come together to celebrate Dave's wedding to Mad Men actress Alison Brie later this year. The couple got engaged In August when the 30-year-old star presented his future wife with a beautiful rose gold ring, and the pair have been busy making plans for their big day.

The Franco family will soon come together to celebrate Dave and Alison's wedding

Alison, 33, previously revealed that she had never even planned to tie the knot until she met Dave at the Mardi Gras parade. "I'm not very bridal, instinctually," she told Yahoo Style. "Marriage never really interested me, I guess because I was very focused on my work. I wasn't sure if I really saw the point to it. "I just met that person that I was like, 'Well, I'm really in love with you and would like to grow old with you,'" Alison said of her new opinion on marriage. "I actually think it's much more romantic when two people are like, 'Oh, I could go either way on marriage, but I want to marry you.'"
