The dad-of-three shared a snap of himself holding his baby son in one hand while scratching his head with the other and looking confused, writing: "Happy Bday, Jaden! You're 18 years old today. And I'm still tryna figure out what the hell I'm doing."

Will shared a throwback photo of Jaden to wish him a happy birthday

In honour of his landmark birthday, Jaden, who is an actor and rapper, announced to his Twitter fans that he would be releasing a new song, Labor V2, on his sister Willow's SoundCloud. When he didn't post the video on time, he told his fans: "It's coming I just need to get back to Willow's computer, I'm having birthday dinner."

The 18-year-old has co-starred with his father on several occasions, most notably The Pursuit of Happyness and After Earth, and Will recently praised Jaden for his work ethic, telling BBC Radio 1 Xtra: "There's a really powerful internal quality as an artist that as parents we encourage. You've got to get out on the edge. You have to try things, you have to be comfortable doing things people don't agree with and you have to be comfortable with doing things that you could fail, and Jaden is 100 per cent fearless.

Will spoke about Jaden's artistic decisions during a radio show

"He will do anything. As a parent, it's scary, it's really terrifying but he is completely willing to live and die by his own artistic decisions and he just doesn't concern himself with what people think."

Will regularly takes to Facebook to pay tribute to his family on special occasions, and posted a happy birthday to his daughter Willow late last year, writing: "Happy Birthday, my Bean. 15 years old today!! When you were born it took about 2 seconds to realize that I was willing to die for you. Thank you for correcting my heart – and teaching me how to love without constriction or condition."
