Calvin Harris criticises 'hurtful' Taylor Swift in a row over hit song

Calvin Harris has criticised his former girlfriend Taylor Swift for making him "looking bad" in a row over one of his songs. This week Taylor's representative revealed that she had written Calvin's hit What You Came For under a pseudonym – and a short time later, the DJ took to Twitter to share his side of the story.

"And she sings a bit on it too. Amazing lyric writer and she smashed it as usual," Calvin, 32, began. "I wrote the music, produced the song, arranged it and cut the vocals though. And initially she wanted it kept secret, hence the pseudonym.

"Hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make ME look bad at this stage though."

Just a few weeks after Calvin and Taylor split, she was pictured stepping out with her new boyfriend Tom Hiddleston – and the new couple have enjoyed a very public month-long romance. "I figure if you're happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do," Calvin continued.

"I know you're off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I'm not that guy, sorry. I won't allow it."

He concluded: "Please focus on the positive aspects of YOUR life because you've earned a great one. God bless everyone, have a beautiful day."

Taylor, 26, has long been rumoured to be in a feud with fellow pop star Katy Perry; her Bad Blood song is reportedly written about the 31-year-old.

Shortly after Calvin's tweets were posted, Katy seemingly responded to the drama with a few cryptic messages of her own. The singer tweeted a GIF of Hilary Clinton shrugging and flashing a knowing smile, before reposting a tweet she had shared in May of last year which read: "Time, the ultimate truth teller."
