Rio 2016: Best moments from the Olympics Opening Ceremony

The Rio Olympic Ceremony took place on Friday night and it was certainly one to remember. 

From the lavish performing recounting the nation's history to Gisele Bundchen's fantastic catwalk, click through the see the most stunning moments of the incredible ceremony. 

The five interlocking rings were shown in a spectacular firework display. 

The spectacular show began with silver-clad dancers carrying balloons, which then turned into drums, in a stunning performance.   

Brazlian supermodel Gisele Bundchen dazzled as she walked down a sensational catwalk down the centre of the stadium. 

The Brazilian opening ceremony showed a retelling of the nation's history, using elastic bands in the incredible performance art. 

Andy Murray waved to the cameras as he led Team GB while carrying the Union Jack flag.

Team GB was greeted with cheers as they entered the stadium during the Athletes Parade.
