Amber Heard donates her £5million Johnny Depp divorce settlement to charity

Amber Heard has donated her settlement to the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and the American Civil Liberties Union.

The actress said that the money donated to the ACLU would have a "particular focus to stop violence against women".

"Hopefully, this experience results in a positive change in the lives of people who need it the most," she added.

Amber's request for a domestic violence restraining order against Johnny was withdrawn.

They wrote in a joint divorce statement: "Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love."

The couple married in February 2015 after a whirlwind romance.
