Anna Chlumsky and her husband Shaun So have welcomed their second child, a bouncing baby girl! The Veep star gave birth on Thursday, and has revealed that she has named her newborn daughter Clara Elizabeth.

The couple already share a three-year-old daughter, Penelope Joan, and the star opened up about how much she enjoys motherhood in an interview with E! News, saying: "It's awesome. I love it. [Penelope's] becoming her own person and it's delicious to watch."

"She's really fun and really sweet. And she's very determined. I love all those things about her. If she wasn't my daughter, I'd want to hang out with her still. She's really good company. This whole thing has taught me that motherhood has a wealth of definitions and identities. There's no one way to be a mum or one way to be a 'good' mum."

The star, who began acting as a child after starring in 1991 film My Girl, also opened up about little Penelope following her footsteps as an actress. After telling Entertainment Tonight: "I don't necessarily think kids need to be professionals," she continued to tell the Guardian that she would tell her daughter to "stick to school plays."

She said: "In the sense that I have a ridiculous and irrational sense of responsibility for others, giving her advice would make me nervous even if I were a skier. Or a lawyer. In that I don't want to be responsible for her experience. My advice to her would be: Stick to school plays."

Although Anna and Shaun are now raising two daughters, Anna previously revealed that they always make time together no matter how busy they are. She said: "When my husband and I got married we made a promise to ourselves that we would use our passport at least once a year because we just love doing that. We've kept that up happily even having a toddler. She's got a couple of stamps on her passport already."
