The Dalai Lama has been the latest to reveal his thoughts on Brad and Angelina's shock split.

His Holiness was asked his thoughts on the end of the Hollywood power couple's marriage during an interview on Good Morning Britain with Piers Morgan. The spiritual leader said he was "sad" to hear the news, then spoke about Brad and Angelina's six children.

The Dalai Lama spoke about the couple's split

"Sometimes [with] divorced people, the children become closer to their father or mother," he said. "Sometimes it's difficult so I think that may sort of harm their deep experiences."

Angelina filed for divorce from Brad earlier this week after her lawyer released a statement which read: "this decision was made for the health of the family," while Brad said he was "very saddened" by the decision in a statement to People magazine, concluding: "but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids."

The Dalai Lama isn't the only famous face to have opened up about their thoughts on the split. The Oceans 11 actor's co-star George Clooney looked taken aback by the news when asked about it by a reporter, saying: "I didn’t know that — wow. I feel very sorry for them."

"That's a sad story and unfortunate for a family. It's an unfortunate story about a family. I feel very sorry to hear that."

Meanwhile, actor Samuel L Jackson was particularly candid about his thoughts regarding the split. Speaking on Good Morning Britain, he said: "There's a huge segment of America that still think what he did to Jennifer Aniston was just wrong and are overjoyed that the wicked witch lost her husband."

"There's another segment that think it is sad and there's a dissolution of another family. I don't know why it's everybody's business, or why people care anyway."
