Sarah Jessica Parker is just like any other mum!

The actress, 51, has shared a photo of what playtime in her household looks like – and it's something that many parents will recognise.

She posted a snap of hundreds of pieces of Lego strewn across the floor and wrote of the colourful carnage: "Right now. X, sj."

"Looks like my lounge room. Lego love," wrote one fan on Instagram. "Just don't step on any of it! Oh the pain!!" warned another.

The former Sex and the City star is the doting mum to twins Tabitha and Marion Loretta, who goes by the name Loretta, and an older teenage son James.

The actress has twins Tabitha and Loretta with her husband Matthew Broderick

Sarah Jessica rarely shares photos of her twin daughters, who were born via surrogate in June 2009. However she treated fans to a rare snap as she and her husband Matthew Broderick celebrated the girls' seventh birthday earlier this year.

"Happy birthday to our lovely, funny, dear, surprising, sparkling and beloved Loretta and Tabitha who today are 7 years old. Let the celebrations begin. X, sj," she wrote.

The couple also have a 13-year-old son James

The actress has previously revealed her daughters' different personalities, telling Vogue: "Tabitha's very, very outgoing, but physically she's very shy. She shakes in elevators; it's very sweet, like Bambi. "[Loretta] is pale, like my husband, with piercing blue eyes. But she's physically bold. I think it's funny how much she looks like my husband, except then I look at Loretta and she has my husband's mouth and sort of sad eyes, you know the kind that go down? The Broderick eyes. They both really look like him." The Hollywood star also revealed that her eldest son James, 13, played a part in naming his sister. "He told me he really wanted Marion to be in the mix," said Sarah Jessica. "We thought, 'are we crazy? Do we let our son name one of the girls? Is that the right thing to do? Is it important for him?' And then he goes, 'and I want it legal.'"
