He continued to say that the memorial would be first come first served due to the large numbers expected to pay tribute to the famous mother and daughter, writing: "The service will begin at 1:00 PM and immediately afterwards, those who want to walk to their final resting place are welcome to do so. There are a limited number of seats available, and it will be on a first come first come, first seated basis, There are no tickets, it is first come, first seated. There will be room for overflow in the huge lobby as well as the outside with screens to watch and hear the service."

A private memorial for Carrie and Debbie, which was attended by Hollywood stars including Gwyneth Paltrow, Meryl Streep and George Lucas, took place in Beverly Hills in early January. A guest at the memorial told People magazine: "The only things missing were Carrie and Debbie. Debbie would sit in the corner, and everyone there would come up and pay homage. Even the biggest stars were star struck by her. Carrie would walk around barefoot with a can of Coca-Cola, making sure everyone was having a good time, saying the funniest things you've ever heard."
