Louise Redknapp has revealed she's enjoying every moment being back in the limelight. The former popstar, who found fame as a member of Eternal in the nineties, opened up about becoming a mother and the impact of competing on Strictly Come Dancing has had on her life. Speaking with MailOnline, the 42-year-old revealed: "I would really like to take the opportunity of learning the trade and getting back out there and turning it into an opportunity for me for work."

The popular TV personality - who has teamed up with Actimel for the brand's latest campaign - is a proud mother to two young sons - Beau and Charley - with whom she shares with football star husband Jamie Redknapp. "A lot of women stop work and have their families, which is great and the most honourable job in the world," she continued. "At the same time, it's great to do something for you. It's so near to performing and what I've done in the past, it's great to get out there and to learn something new and get better at it."

EXCLUSIVE: Louise discusses Strictly Come Dancing curse

Discussing the opportunities the BBC dance show has brought her way, Louise added: "I think it's just made me enjoy what it's like to be out there and be successful and be good at something. I think they've (family) seen a new side where I go out there and I throw everything at something. I think it's good for the boys to see. It's good when they see their mum being ambitious." In October, the former singer opened up about her children, claiming her eldest is very much like herself, while the youngest takes after his father. "Personality-wise, too," she told HELLO! Magazine. "I actually think the little one would be a great little singer and dancer. But football is prevailing at the moment."

Speaking about their parenting skills, Louise revealed that Jamie was definitely the "tougher" parent. "Oh Jamie is much more strict than I am," she added. "I will do anything for an easy life! He is brilliant, I have to say. If they want new football boots, they have to earn them. Our eldest is desperate for an iPhone and all his friends have got them and Jamie is like 'No, no, no.' He's like 'When I feel the time is right and you've earned one, you will get one. It has to be for Christmas, a birthday or when he has done something brilliant like done well in an exam."
