On Tuesday, representatives for the stars announced the sad news and, in a bid to prevent exaggerated rumours from flying around the internet, they stated: "Before rumours or falsifications get out of hand we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time."
Days later, Katy broke her silence as she took to her Twitter page to reveal that nobody was to "blame". The 32-year-old told her 96 million followers: "HOW BOUT A NEW WAY OF THINKING FOR 2017!? You can still be friends & love your former partners! No one's a victim or a villain, get a life y'all!" [sic] Katy and her 40-year-old former beau were last photographed together at last month's Vanity Fair Oscar party.
