Ryan Reynolds has never been one to shy away from discussing the trials and tribulations of being a parent. He’s talked about dirty diapers, watching Frozen on repeat and about being on constant dad duty to his two daughters with Blake Lively. Now, in a new interview, he's dished on travelling with young tots. "I would rather drink a piping hot bowl of liquid rabies than get on a plane with my two children," he joked on Good Morning America on Thursday. "I've always had empathy for parents especially like [during] flying… Before I had kids, I was always like, 'God, that's hard.' You can see [the parents are] sweating and they're nervous because their kids are yelling and everyone's mad at them… At two years old, they just have to rip all their clothes off and introduce themselves to everyone on the plane."

STORY: Ryan Reynolds praises wife Blake Lively for keeping him 'sane'

It's one of the reasons the 40-year-old and his 29-year-old wife prefer to entertain at home in "the burbs." Their kids, James and Ines, are two years and six months old, respectively. According to People, the pair spend their free time running errands, riding horses, dining at local restaurants and hosting events in the backyard of their New York country estate. "[They] picked a very traditional kind of house for people who work in Hollywood," a source told the publication last year. "They wanted a house with character, not a trendy, modern house. Their place is very homey. [Lively] is very domestic."

The Canadian actor joked that he tries to avoid travelling with his children

It's something Ryan himself has admitted to, noting he and his family don't lead a "wild and crazy life." In 2010 he told People: "I’ve never been the guy stumbling out of bars at three in the morning, at least that anyone is aware of. It’s never been my thing." The actor appeared on Good Morning America to promote his new movie Life, which co-stars Jake Gyllenhaal. He noted the two became quite close while working together and that Jake and Blake have even become competitive chefs. "Blake, my wife, is very good at cooking, and Jake might be just a little bit better," the Golden Globe-nominated actor joked. "He can throw down. It gets very competitive between the two." The movie hits theatres on March 24.
