Ryan Seacrest is going to be in trouble! The TV host shared a special throwback Thursday photo on Instagram this week showing him posing with fellow American Idol stars Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson back in the day. "They're gonna kill me for posting this #tbt," the 42-year-old joked alongside the image, which shows Ryan with bleached blonde tips, and Simon looking a little sunburnt as he beams for the camera.

Fans were delighted, with close to 30,000 people liking the photo in just two hours "@ryanseacrest loving the highlights. But Simon?!?! Ouch," one follower wrote. "Omg! Simon's sunburn!! And the big smile!!" another added. A third joked: "Was that Simon's first trip to LA?! #sunburned." American Idol came to an end in April 2016 after 15 seasons. The programme launched the careers of Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson and Jordin Sparks, and Ryan recently spoke about the wide-ranging appeal of the talent show.

"There's something very simple about it," he told Entertainment Weekly. "This is something that was designed for the whole family to watch together. It was a cool show for the family to watch together. Everything we did, we did through the lens of people sitting in their living rooms with their teenagers, or their kids, their husbands and their wives, watching this show together. And having a common thread of something to talk about it. And obviously it's done what it's done for music, but I think simply this was one of the greatest family events for so many years. And people grew up really connected to it because of that."
