Liam Payne has returned to Instagram with another brooding selfie, just three weeks after he and Cheryl welcomed their first child together. The One Direction star, who said he was "incredibly happy" after becoming a father, appeared a little tired as he pouted for the camera in the new snap he shared with fans on Thursday.

The 23-year-old's appearance prompted some fans to claim he looked "well tired" as he settles into life as a new dad. However others couldn't resist commenting that Liam was a "hot daddy" and asked Liam to reveal what he and Cheryl had named their baby boy.

Cheryl, 33, and Liam announced the arrival of their son on Saturday 25 March – just one day ahead of Mother's Day. Both took to Instagram to share their happy news, with Liam also taking the time to praise new mum Cheryl. He wrote: "My close friends and family know there are very few times when I'm left speechless... wow! I'm incredibly happy to welcome our new baby boy into the world, it's a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life and my favourite memory I have so far.

Former Girls Aloud singer Cheryl is equally smitten with their new arrival, and updated her bio on Twitter and Instagram earlier this week to tell fans she was "Living in a love bubble." Meanwhile her friend Simon Cowell said Cheryl is "ecstatic" since becoming a mum. The music mogul told the Mirror that he is yet to meet Cheryl's baby boy, but said: "Cheryl seems in a good place. Having gone through it myself it is quite nerve-racking, but this is going to be the making of her. From people I know who have been with her, apparently she's ecstatic so I'm happy for her." He added with a chuckle: "I haven't had the call yet, but I would be godfather if asked."
