Ellie Harrison has found an unusual way of showing her love and devotion to fiancé Matt Goodman – by having her arm scarred ten times. The Countryfile presenter stepped out over the weekend, showcasing 10 circular scars running down her left arm. The TV star, who has been engaged to doctor Matt since 2005, explained that the process is called "scarification" and that only a few places in the country offer it.

Ellie admitted that it hurt a lot, but was all worth it and that the scars are an "offering" to Matt, the father of her three children. She told Event magazine: "I presented my arm to him in this kind of clingfilm wrap. You have to scrub [the cuts] out and put Vaseline on, then clingfilm to keep the wounds open and clean. He was a bit shocked, I must say. He said he was conflicted, because I'd hurt myself in this pursuit, but he was obviously really quite emotional."

Ellie, 39, added: "We're not married, but this was my great offering to him. Obviously if he leaves me I'll have to create a different story about what it's about! He's the most handsome man on Earth. He's my beloved and I hope we die together. Not yet. But that's my wish – that we end up dying together."

Ellie has co-presented Countryfile since 2009. The popular Sunday evening show pulls in an average of seven million viewers each week, when two presenters typically visit a place or region and uncover stories and traditions from the area. Other presenters on the BBC One programme include Matt Baker, Julia Bradbury and Helen Skelton.
