Twitter users have reacted emotionally to a story about a man who was snapped keeping his wife company while she was in isolation during her cancer treatment. The couple Marci and Jon's daughter Mackenna posted a photo of her dad sat by their bedroom door after having set up a desk there, writing: "My mum has to stay in her room in isolation for her cancer radiation so my dad set up a desk at her door to keep her company and I'm crying."

The tweet quickly went viral, reaching over 5,000 favourites and 2,000 retweets, and users were quick to send their support to the family. One wrote: "Praying for your mum. The family spoke to BuzzFeed News about Marci's treatment. "Jon goes to every doctor's appointment, every blood test, every surgery, every radiation," she told the website. "And, as you can see, if he can't be by my side he is as close as he can get!" Mackenna said: "The amount of love I've received is crazy and I didn't expect any of it, but I'm so grateful." She also spoke about why she decided to share the photo, saying: "I just thought it was sweet because they are so in love."
