Serena Williams and her fiancé, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, turned heads when they stepped out together for Monday night's Met Gala – the tennis star's first public appearance since announcing her pregnancy. That same night, the couple posed for famous photoblog Humans of New York, with Alexis paying a very sweet tribute to Serena, which was used as the caption. "She has the biggest heart," Alexis said. "Everyone sees her success as an athlete, but all of that is layered on the size of her heart. She gives 100% of herself to everything she does: as a friend, as a lover, and soon, as a mother."

Serena, 35, and Alexis, 34, announced their engagement last December, with the athlete letting slip the news of her pregnancy a couple of weeks ago. The couple are head over heels in love – as is clearly evident on their social media accounts, where they frequently share sweet candid moments with fans. In February, Alexis posted a photo of the couple sat side by side on Instagram, writing: "My #WCW, every day."

Meanwhile, Serena and Alexis have revealed that they have chosen not to find out the sex of their baby, ahead of the birth this autumn. Asked at the Met Gala whether she is carrying a boy or a girl, Serena replied: "We're waiting. It's a surprise. We call it 'baby'." The couple were also asked whether they will settle down in San Francisco, where Alexis is based as co-founder of Reddit. "Well, that's the question of the hour, right?" said Serena, smiling and looking at her fiancé. Agreeing that it was a wonderful city, she added: "I couldn't be stuck in a more beautiful place."
