In June 2017, Beyonce and Jay Z welcomed their twins Rumi and Sir. The rapper recently opened up about the inspiration behind his children's names, telling Rap Radar, "Rumi is our favourite poet, so it was for our daughter. And then Sir was, like, man, come out the gate. He carries himself like that. He just came out, like, Sir."

Gravity Blue Smith

With parents named Lucky and Stormi Bree, it's fitting that the newest member of the Smith family is named Gravity.

The 19-year-old model and the former Miss Teen USA welcomed their first child together in July 2017.

The couple shared a sweet family portrait on Instagram, captioned, "Welcome to the world little angel, the most perfect beautiful gift I could have ever dreamed of"

Nick Cannon took to Instagram on Feb. 23 to announce the birth of his third son - Golden Sagon Cannon. The proud new father, who has twins with Mariah Carey, wrote the following touching message alongside a picture of his newborn son: "Weeping may endure for a night, but Joy cometh in the morning! Australian stars Lara Bingle and Sam Worthington welcomed son Rocket Zot in March 2015. The name Rocket is described as a "star baby name that might prove too supercharged for real life", while Lara previously responded to criticism over her son's middle name. And Kourtney revealed she's been itching to use the name ever since the birth of her first child. She said: "I actually had the name on our list with Mason. The first-born of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, North is a strong, solid name and unique yet familiar. Kim's mother Kris Jenner was quick to clear up any suggestions that Nori's name was direction-based. She said: "The way [Kim] explained it to me was that North means the highest power, and she says that North is their highest point together and I thought that was really sweet."

Their daughter has one of the most unique celebrity baby names, but Beyoncé and Jay Z have never confirmed the meaning behind Blue Ivy's moniker. However former Destiny's Child singer Beyoncé did drop a pretty big hint following Blue's birth in 2012. She reblogged a passage taken from Rebecca Solnit's novel A Field Guide to Getting Lost which started "The world is blue at its edges and in its depths" and ended "The light that gets lost, gives us the beauty of the world, so much of which is in the colour blue".

Elsie Otter is the daughter of actress Zooey Deschanel and her producer husband Jacob Pechenik. The New Girl star divulged the very simple meaning behind her baby girl's name during an appearance on The Today Show in October 2015. Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver's wife Jools says parents should have more fun when naming their children. In 2012 she told Gurgle: "They all have more than one name because I couldn't decide. Since her birth in 2004, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin's eldest child Apple has topped lists of unusual celebrity baby names. But one celebrity baby who is named after a famous character is Bronx Mowgli West, son of Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson. Shortly after his son's birth in 2008, Pete said: "It definitely is his name.
