Daniel Craig's credibility sky-rocketed with the release of Casino Royale. Hailed the best 007 since Sean Connery, the British actor has entered the big league after years of languishing in the background despite having turned in some acclaimed performances. In 2007 the super-buff actor will get even more global exposure in Alien flick The Invasion and an adaptation of Philip Pullman's best-selling novel His Dark Materials: The Golden Compass. He shares top billing with Nicole Kidman in both movies.

The sixth actor to play the famous secret agent, he now has a license to thrill in Hollywood. But the Chester-born thesp plans to remain down-to-earth about his new-found fame. "Nothing has changed yet," he says, "I have very good friends and a very close family. They'll keep a close eye on me and knock me back if I change too much."
