Whitney Houston is making a fresh start. The Bodyguard star has been turning her life around in readiness to make her long-awaited comeback in 2007. Two weeks after filing for divorce from husband Bobby Brown, with whom she had a turbulent marriage, the singer showed the world she was back on form at October 2006's Carousel of Hope Ball. And the 43-year-old former chart-topper, who has battled addiction problems, has teamed up again with mentor Clive Davis to work on a new album.

The disc will include tracks from songwriters and producers like R Kelly, Jermaine Dupri and Johnta Austin, who co-wrote Mariah Carey's 2005 hit We Belong Together. "We are going to make a great album. In my opinion, the best singers in the world are Aretha (Franklin) and Whitney," says Clive. "I'm really excited by the material we have… This is going to be pure Whitney."
