On Sunday July 26, Laverstoke Park, home to one-time Forumla 1 champ and biodynamic farmer Jodi Scheckter, will be hosting this year's British Barbecue Championships.
The 2,500 acre Hampshire farm which supplies meat to some of the country’s finest chefs - including Heston Blumenthal - will open its doors to the public who can explore the grounds, meet celebrity chefs and enjoy a family day out culminating in the Barbecue competition.
Teams of five will be competing for cash prizes and will be judged by a panel including Anthony Worrall-Thompson. Contestants can enter as either professional or novice and will be cooking a choice of their own plus a joint of Laverstoke Park organic buffalo.
Professional teams already involved include Roast of Borough Market and Chicago Rib Shack.
At the event there will also be buffalo and hog roasts, live jazz, farm tours and classic children’s entertainment like a bouncy castle and coconut shy.
