A Sunday celebration for charity

Tuck into Britain’s favourite meal and feel good about eating well

hellomagazine.com The Great Sunday Lunch is back this year. Two of Britain’s largest charities for the elderly, Age Concern and Help the Aged have been supported by Aunt Bessie’s in calling on Sunday lunch lovers nationwide to get together and raise funds for these important causes.

On Sunday October 18, people across the country are being asked to invite friends and family over for a meal and to donate money to support projects for these charities – particularly bringing them together at times of loneliness.

A primarily example of which is the traditional family Sunday lunch that so many of us take for granted.

TV chef and ambassador for The Great Sunday Lunch, Lesley Waters said: "Family and cooking are the most important things in my life and so for me this is a fantastic event – a Sunday lunch is the perfect time for friends and families to spend quality time together and raise funds for a great cause at the same time."

Lesley is just one of many famous faces showing their support for the nationwide campaign.

Other celebrity supporters of The Great Sunday Lunch include EastEnders actress Barbara Windsor, TV hosts Tess Daly and Michael Aspel and former Atomic Kitten Liz McClarnon.
