The Hummingbird Bakery’s first book found its way quickly into the kitchens and hearts from Chelsea to Chelmsford. The bakery itself has proved hugely popular with new outlets popping up all over London.
In their new tome, Cake Days: Recipes to make every day special, Tarek Malouf has put together a brilliant collection of simple and scrumptious recipes for their classic cupcakes, layer cakes, pies and cookies.
Recipes are also geared towards indulgent days – birthdays, Easter, Valentine’s Day and Christmas – but, if we’re honest, more often you’ll be cooking from the book just for a treat.
The book is packed with favourites from The Hummingbird Bakery as well as new, novel ideas such as cocktail and fizzy pop cupcakes, flower-infused cupcakes and even an afternoon tea inspired Earl Grey cupcake recipe.
The new sweet du jour, the whoopie pie, also makes a welcome appearance. Pleasingly, every single recipe is accompanied by an appetising photograph.
