While the kitchen is filled with the noises and smells of stewing, braising, roasting and slow-cooking, you may have noticed the streets filled with the rustling of many a moustache, freshly popped up for November.
This is, of course, a charitable ‘stunt’, a moustache-growing event that occurs annually during this month, the aim of which is raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men’s health in general.
A number of restaurants get involved, including the must-eat burger restaurant, Byron, who have teamed up with celebrity chef and writer Gizzi Erskine to create the ‘Gizz-Mo’, a classic Byron burger served with a cheesy Welsh-rarebit topping – 50p of each sale goes to the charity.
The Devonshire Arms have teamed up with Spitfire and for the sale of every ‘pie and a pint’ will be donating £1 to the charity. Moma are donating funds from the sale of every Wild Berry breakfast sold in November too.
To top it all - there's a Movember cookbook, Cook from the Land, celebrating the manly art of foraging!
