Jean-Christophe Novelli's summer style steaks
Jean says: "Food should be enjoyed. Buy the best quality you can afford and of course indulge yourself sometimes. I think it makes people feel even better about their food when the ingredients are ethically sourced - especially meat, fish and poultry from farmers that really care about the welfare of their livestock."
Gary Rhodes's lamb cutlets with creamy mint peas
Gary on cooking ethically: "Simple food has always summed up my food philosophy. I want people to discover and enjoy real seasonal flavours and taste local British food at its best. I also believe it is important that we really choose carefully when it comes to products from animals - whether meat, poultry, fish or dairy. Humane rearing might cost a little more - but I firmly believe it produces a better quality product and everyone benefits - the farmer, the animal and us!"
James Martin's meringue, lemon curd and passion fruit torte
Saturday Kitchen presenter and chef James said: "It is not enough just to say we support welfare for farm animals, we must turn our words into actions. Just look for and buy higher welfare food when you are out shopping - that's all it takes."
Ching He-Huang's shredded duck and cucumber lettuce 'wraps'
Ching explained why she believes in the cause: "I am proud to support the RSPCA's Freedom Food scheme and to help improve welfare standards for ducks. Please get behind these guys and support this cause - look for the Freedom Food label when you buy duck, because better welfare standards for animals can only be better for the wellbeing and the health of everyone and our planet".
Aldo Zilli's salmon stuffed with spinach, with dill sauce
Aldo recommends buying Freedom Food fish: "Making ethical choices when shopping means you can enjoy excellent quality food in the knowledge that it came from a farm where the wellbeing of the fish is considered."
