Bill Murray took George Clooney to his favourite Greek restaurant in New York on Tuesday, while the star is in the Big Apple filming his latest film Money Monster. Like true New Yorkers, the star duo ventured to the city's suburbs in search of a food paradise with budget prices – and they found it in Astoria, Queens.
The Monuments Men co-stars dined together at Taverna Kyclades, where delicious and authentic Greek dishes are served up daily – and when Bill Murray had eaten just the previous day with film director Sofia Coppola. Naturally, the owners of the restaurant didn't waste time in sharing a snap of their A-lister guests on their Facebook page.

After Lost in Translation star Bill's first visit they wrote, "Monday just got a whole lot better when Bill Murray and Sofia Coppola stopped in for lunch..."
The following day, the restaurant's staff surely didn't know their luck when Bill walked through the doors once again. Alongside a snap of Bill and George posing with a member of staff, they wrote: "Bill Murray loved us so much he brought a friend."
Delights on the menu include the traditional Greek and peasant salads, roasted lemon potatoes, fried cheese, Greek-style kebabs and a range of dishes "from the sea" – from fried squid to a simple salmon steak and grilled swordfish.
No doubt they shared the grilled octopus with lemon and olive oil, which was recently given the nod of approval by Eater New York when it was included in its "24 Iconic New York City Dishes" list.
Unlike the usual haunts visited by celebrities such as George, Bill, Sofia and Money Monster director Jodie Foster – who also ate here recently – the Taverna Kyclades is accessible not just to the stars. Starters cost from a little more than £3 while mains will set you back about £20.
George and his wife Amal Clooney have been staying Stateside in Manhattan the last few weeks while he shoots Money Monster in Long Island. The film boasts quite the cast, also featuring stars Julia Roberts, Jack O'Connell and Dominic West.
