When Paul Hollywood appears on the small screen, you know Mary Berry is nearby – or so it has been since the duo began as the two judges on the nation's favourite baking series, Great British Bake Off. But now the famous baker is to fly solo on a new baking show, Paul Hollywood City Bakes.
The TV programme will see the 49-year-old baker and celebrity chef share pastry and bread recipes in Europe and North America. He will also explore family recipes, hotel delicacies and local favourites before adding his own twist to each dish.
Paul says of his new venture: "Food culture can reveal so much about a nation so it's a privilege to be able to delve into the lives of fellow bakers and discover some really amazing international bakes."
The show will be broadcast in the UK on the Food Network channel, and will hit screens in April next year.
While Mary won't be joining Paul on his new mission, the 80-year-old will be jetting to the US to take Bake Off Stateside.
According to reports, the baking queen is to appear in a festive-themed version of the baking show on ABC. She will join pastry chef Johnny Iuzzini as a judge on The Great Holiday Baking Show, as amateur bakers attempt a series of themed challenges.
The four-week special, hosted My Big Fat Greek Wedding actress Nia Vardalos and her husband, Cougar Town star Ian Gomez, will debut on 30 November.
Last month's Bake Off final became the UK's most-watched TV show of the year. An average audience of 13.4 million viewers tuned in to see Nadiya Hussain crowned the winner of the sixth series.
The British-Bangladeshi baker had much of the nation in tears, as well as Mary Berry for the first time in the history of the show, when she made her winning speech.
"I'm never going to put boundaries on myself ever again. I'm never going to say I can't do it," she said as her husband Abdal and her three children surrounded her.
