Prosciutto di San Daniele with caramelised fig jam on crostini

Crostini di fichi caramellati con Prosciutto di San Daniele

Dish type: Starter

Creates 24 crostinis

Cooking time: 15 minutes

4 figs, diced into 1cm cubes
50g Demerara sugar
1 tablespoon of honey
8 slices of Prosciutto di San Daniele

1) Cook the figs with the sugar and honey for 15 minutes over a medium heat.

2) Spoon over crusty toasted bread, and top with a generous slice or two of Prosciutto di San Daniele.

TIP: For a vegetarian alternative swap the prosciutto with chévre, or goats cheese, topped with balsamic vinegar.
