Get street style savvy like Blake Lively

Share this:

We all know her as the stylish Serena Van der Woodsen from Gossip Girl but Blake Lively’s own personal style credentials are just as impressive as her character’s never-ending designer wardrobe that she flaunts on the famous TV series. Whether strutting down the streets of New York's Upper East Side in a high-street Topshop blazer or gracing the red carpet in the latest Alexander Mcqueen creation or Gucci gown, the fashionista hits every trend the fashion world has to offer. Despite being known for her glammed-up haute couture gowns, when the cameras aren’t rolling the twenty-five-year-old’s street style is effortless, sophisticated and city chic.

Often seen sporting casual coats or cropped jackets with high boots, usually Louboutins, her classic go-tos are normally teamed with statement jewellery by Oscar de la Renta and a designer handbag. Blake recently married husband Ryan Reynolds in a secret ceremony shortly under a year after they first met. The newlywed actress was recently spotted with her beau at the airport in a cool combination of skinny jeans, pumps, and a Chanel bag (left image). She combined her love of designer goods with comfortable wear, making her daytime look not only fashion-forward but practical too. Her insistence on choosing her own attire without the aid of a personal stylist makes Blake's look even more unique and desirable. Never one to shy away from colour, she samples unique designs - whether high-street or high fashion - and shows how to beat the cold winter blues and have fun with your wardrobe during the chillier seasons, experimenting with bright, bold shades and accessories.

For an added touch she accessorizes with a Fendi chameleon duffle satchel and Jimmy Choo high boots. Alternatively for a wonderful winter outfit, team a casual oversized boyfriend coat or fitted jacket with a woolly snood and a hat and complete the look with knee-high boots for a warm but chic ensemble. Our suggestions to copy Blake's look: 1. blue scarf, The New Yorker;  2. oversized black coat with leather lining, Zadig & Voltaire; 3. Black blag with brown detail, Hoss Intropia (famous Spanish brand); 4. Knee-high heeled black boots, Escada
