Supermodel Cindy Crawford has opened up about her incredible modelling career, as well as revealing which of this generation's models she admired the most. The 48-year-old initially shot to fame in the nineties, and was one of the original 'Supermodels' alongside Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Claudia Schiffer, Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista and Stephanie Seymour.

"I got to be more than just a picture," she told Violet Grey. "Because of social media, so many of the girls today, like Coco Rocha, Lily Aldridge, Georgia May Jagger and Cara Delevingne, are brand-building. When I started modelling there was no language for that". With her iconic mole and enviable curvaceous figure, Cindy was propelled to international stardom when she began modelling at 17-years-old, gracing the catwalks of designers including Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana and Ralph Lauren. However, she revealed that she believes it takes more than a good walk and natural beauty to make it as a model. "I like the girls who look like they have real personalities," she admitted. "Like they're people I would want to meet. Georgia May Jagger is one I like to watch. Her pictures are beautiful but also interesting."

It's not the first time that Cindy has spoken about the industry – she previously revealed that she had never initially considered modelling as a career. "My generation didn't grow up thinking about modelling," she said. "Maybe we thought about being famous as a singer or a football player or something like that, but I never thought about modelling as a career." "I think that things have changed certainly because of America's Next Top Model and Instagrams and selfies," she added.
