Chelsea Leyland recently joined forces with the National Society for Epilepsy in the UK.

Speaking exclusively to HELLO! Fashion Monthly for the December issue, the 27-year-old revealed that despite suffering from the condition, she refuses to let it hold her back from pursuing her passion.

"It's quite hilarious – a DJ with epilepsy," she quipped. " I struggle with many things – I can't have more than one flash (going off) on the red carpet – and have had little blackout moments because of flashes." The British-born beauty took to her Instagram account, which  has over 50,000 followers, to draw attention to the campaign.

"I am one of 65 million people suffering from epilepsy and I am supporting epilepsy awareness. November is national epilepsy awareness month," she captioned the photo. "One in 10 people will suffer a seizure within their lifetime, it is not contagious and it is not a disease. #daretounderstand."

Ever since she made her musical debut at Valentino's Celebrity Poker Tournament, Chelsea has been making waves in the industry, and is keen to use her emerging star status to raise awareness for the cause. "I'm now at that age where I realise it has been the making of me and I'm ready to give back a little bit," she revealed. "It's good to speak out because people can relate to struggle and it's what makes you human and real. I hope I can use my profile to help other young girls."
